2022 Healthy Kids Day®

Healthy Kids Day® is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families. YMCAs across the country host free community events aimed to inspire kids to keep their minds and bodies active throughout the summer months. Here in the Greater Scranton community, the event will feature activities that range from a Kids Fun Run and physical activities to a vendor fair and petting zoo. All activities are designed to inspire kids to get active while simultaneously teaching families how to develop routines that support mental and physical health at home.

Don’t forget to join us for our Annual Kids Fun Run! Pre-registration is not required and participants can meet outside in the back of the facility. The race for children ages 3-5 will be held from 10:30-10:40am; the race for children ages 6-9 will be held from 10:45-10:55am and the race for children ages 10-14 will be held from 11:00-11:10am.

3rd Annual Harry P. McGrath Memorial
Golf Tournament and Dinner Celebration!

Join the Greater Scranton YMCA for the 3rd Annual Harry P. McGrath Memorial Golf Tournament and Dinner Celebration!

This year’s event will be held on Friday, September 16th at Glen Oak Country Club.

Harry McGrath was a proud member of the Greater Scranton YMCA. He specialized in education law, advocating for the rights of all students, particularly those with special needs. It became his passion to improve the quality of education for children in NEPA.

Proceeds from the tournament will fund the Greater Scranton YMCA’s Summer Learning Loss Prevention Program, Summer Scholars, through literacy instruction, enrichment activities and positive youth development opportunities.
For more information on golfing, attending the dinner or supporting the event through a sponsorship, contact Betsy at [email protected] or Meghan Carnevale at [email protected].
