Meet Joe Yasinskas!

Joe Yasinskas

The Greater Scranton YMCA is so excited to introduce you to Joe Yasinskas, Head Swim Coach for the Greater Scranton YMCA’s Stingray’s Swim Team.

Joe began competitive swimming with the Abington Gators. While in high school, he swam with the Abington Heights Comets. Joe was a four-year letter winner, a district qualifier and team co-captain. He was a swim instructor and served as Director of the Abington Heights Swim Lessons Program for nine years.

Since 2010, Joe has been a Greater Scranton YMCA member and a member of United States Masters Swimming. He has competed in over thirty masters’ swimming pool and open water events. He has been a high school social studies and English teacher for eighteen years. Joe currently resides in Olyphant with his wife and daughter.
