Swim lessons
There is no organization more qualified in swim instruction than the Y, who invented swim lessons in 1903. The Y teaches water safety, a critical life-saving skill for all children and adults, and how to swim. These skills build confidence and make it possible to safely enjoy pools, water parks, and the outdoors. Check out this helpful tool to determine the level of your swimmer!
Safe Around Water (3 to 5 years old) Non-swimmer
The Greater Scranton YMCA’s Annual Safety Around Water Campaign will kick-off on June 8th, 2026. These concentrated lessons are designed to teach children ages 3-14 the skills they need to not only learn to swim, but to stay safe in and around the water. This year’s campaign will consist of 8 lessons held on June 8-11 and June 15-18. Registration is first come, first served and will open on Friday, May 8th. The cost for both members and non-members is $25.00.
The Safety Around Water Campaign is once again supported by the Kiwanis Club of Scranton!
