The Greater Scranton YMCA’s Olyphant Early Learning Center Welcomes New Center Director, Erica L. Dixon

Welcome, Erica!

We are thrilled to introduce Erica L. Dixon as the new director of our Olyphant Early Learning Center.

Erica brings 12 years of experience in the childcare field and holds a degree in Child and Family Studies with a concentration in Human Services. She is deeply committed to creating safe, nurturing spaces where children and families can thrive — and that commitment shows in everything she does.

Outside of work, Erica is a mom to two young daughters and shares her home with her partner Gary, a dog named Pickles, and a cat named Hank. She loves board games, animated movies, crocheting, baking, and is always up for trying a new cuisine — though breakfast food holds a permanent spot at the top of her list.

If you see her around the center (iced coffee in hand), don’t hesitate to stop and say hello. Erica values open communication and genuine connection, and she’s excited to get to know the families she serves.

Children who participate in quality learning programs tend to be more successful in school, are more competent socially and emotionally, and show higher verbal and intellectual development.

Infants– 6 weeks to 12 months

Young Toddlers– 12 months to 24 months (must be mobile-crawling/walking)- Full and Part time available

Older Toddlers– 24 months-36 months- Full and Part time available

Preschool 1– 3/4 year old- Full and Part time available

Preschool 2– 4/5 year old- Full and Part time available

Scholarship funding is generously provided by individual and corporate donors, foundations and the United Way of Lackawanna, Wayne & Pike.
